People often ask how I ended up here at Middle Path Integrative Pediatrics with Dr. Ellie. The truth is, this journey began a long time ago. My husband and I became deeply interested in health and nutrition and started questioning why conventional medicine, while essential, wasn’t always helping people truly thrive. Why were so many people getting sicker, not healthier?
We read countless books, met with Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn at the Cleveland Clinic to learn about reversing heart disease through whole-foods nutrition, and immersed ourselves in the teachings of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. The changes we made in our own lives were undeniable—more energy, better health, and a clearer understanding of what “wellness” could really look like.
Eventually, we both realized we wanted to shift our careers so we could share what we’d learned and help others heal. Becoming Physician Assistants felt like the best path forward.
I chose pediatrics because I absolutely love children—and what better time to influence lifelong habits and health than in the earliest years? But as I began working in traditional pediatrics, I quickly realized that the conventional model doesn’t leave much room for nutrition, movement, emotional or spiritual wellbeing—all pieces I believe make up true, whole-person health. I value Western medicine deeply; it saves lives. But I also believe an integrative approach can elevate the care we provide in powerful and meaningful ways.
Over the past 10 years, I’ve tried to weave holistic care into my practice, but the standard system simply doesn’t allow the time or space to care for families the way I feel they deserve.
Now, as a mom to two young daughters, I understand more than ever how important it is to support families with practical, realistic tools to keep their kids thriving.
I’m so excited to offer your family the time, connection, and integrative care you deserve. I can’t wait to walk alongside you on your wellness journey!
