Starting solids can feel exciting… and overwhelming

It’s normal to feel unsure when it comes to feeding your baby real food for the first time. Choking fears, allergy concerns, and conflicting advice can all make you second-guess every bite. One source says purees. Another says baby-led weaning.

And somehow it all feels like a test you didn’t study for.

Here’s the truth: every child is different, and that’s not just okay, it’s expected. There’s no one “right” way to start solids. What matters most is learning how to read your baby’s cues,

offering food in a safe and developmentally appropriate way,

and creating a positive foundation around eating.

This course helps you tune out the noise and tune into your baby, so you can focus on what really matters: confidence, connection, and nourishment.

Meet Your Instructor

Hi, I’m Dr. Ellie, an integrative pediatrician and the founder of Middle Path!

I created this course because starting solids doesn’t need to be high-pressure. Parents are constantly bombarded with conflicting messages about the “right” way to feed their baby, from baby-led weaning rules to puree schedules to allergy fears, and it’s easy to lose sight of what actually matters: helping your baby learn to eat with trust, joy, and confidence.

This course is here to guide you through the messy, magical process of introducing food with less stress and more intention. I’ll help you tune into your baby’s cues, support their digestion and development, and create a mealtime rhythm that works for your real life, not someone else’s checklist.

Let’s take the pressure off and enjoy the transition to solid foods, together.
